Robert Walker, son of Mr. and Mrs. Horace H. Walker, has been awarded a scholarship to the Pasadena Playhouse for his fine work in dramatics at the San Diego Army and Navy school. In an inter-scholastic contest held last season this school won first place in San Diego county. The final contest was then held at the Pasadena Playhouse, where the winning schools of all the California counties competed and the San Diego Army and Navy school won first place. It was at this time that Mr. Walker won first place in individual acting for his work in the one-act play, “The Other Side,” and was awarded a scholarship to the Pasadena Playhouse, besides receiving a cup and two medals. Mr. Walker will continue his studies at the Army and Navy school for this year and will take up his scholarship course at the Pasadena Playhouse the beginning of next season. This is a good start in the dramatics field for Mr. Walker, as many an artist is discovered in the Pasadena Playhouse groups. It will be interesting to watch his progress.
